What is the difference between a general information and a trivia?

well' i sort of have this homework in english, and my teacher asked me to give an example of a general information like "the longest mountain is __" (she gave that as an example ) and i found one but its a trivia.. here it is " your brain will stop growing when you reached 15 years old.. is that a general info or trivia?
